Seven AI Prompt Templates for Everyday Tasks
FX TechPulse Editorial · November 7, 2026

Most disappointing chatbot answers come from vague requests. A short template that states the goal, the context and the format you want usually gives a far better first draft. Here are seven patterns you can reuse.
The basic recipe
A strong prompt has four parts: the role or situation, the task, the details that matter, and the format of the answer. For example: You are helping a small bakery owner. Write a friendly email announcing new opening hours. Keep it under 120 words and use a warm tone.
Template 1: Write an email
Write an email to [person] about [topic]. My goal is [goal]. Tone: [polite, firm, friendly]. Include these points: [list]. Keep it under [number] words.
Template 2: Summarize a long text
Summarize the text below in five bullet points for someone who has no time to read it. Then list any dates, numbers and decisions separately. Text: [paste].
Template 3: Explain a concept
Explain [topic] to a [age or level] using a simple analogy. Then give one real-world example and one common misconception.
Template 4: Plan a project
I want to [goal] by [date]. I can spend [hours] per week. Create a week-by-week plan with milestones, and tell me which steps are the riskiest.
Template 5: Compare options
Compare [option A] and [option B] for someone who cares most about [criteria]. Present a table with pros, cons and cost, then give a recommendation and explain your reasoning.
Template 6: Improve my writing
Edit the paragraph below for clarity and flow without changing its meaning. Point out what you changed and why, so I can learn from it.
Template 7: Quiz me
Ask me ten questions about [subject], one at a time. Wait for my answer, tell me if it is right, and explain anything I missed.
Tips to get better results
- Give examples of what you like. A sample of your own writing helps the tool match your voice.
- Ask for the answer in steps if the problem is complex.
- Follow up. The first answer is a draft, so ask for changes such as shorter, simpler or more formal.
- Never include passwords, private customer data or confidential documents in a prompt.
Always check the output
Even a perfect prompt cannot guarantee a correct answer. Verify facts, numbers and names before you rely on them. Save the templates that work for you in a note, and refine them over time. Within a few weeks you will have a personal toolkit that saves real time.
