How to Pitch Investors: What a Good Pitch Contains
FX TechPulse Editorial · October 18, 2026

A pitch is a short story about a problem, your solution and why your team can win. You usually have only a few minutes to make an impression, so clarity matters more than polish.
The core slides
- Problem: who has it, and how painful is it?
- Solution: what you built, shown simply.
- Market: how big is the opportunity, with reasoned numbers.
- Product: a demo or screenshots.
- Traction: users, revenue, pilots, growth.
- Business model: how you make money.
- Competition: honest comparison.
- Team: why you are the right people.
- The ask: how much you are raising and what you will do with it.
Tips
- Keep the deck to 10 to 15 slides.
- Use plain language and avoid jargon.
- Lead with the strongest evidence.
- Be honest about risks. Investors will find them anyway.
Prepare for questions
Know your numbers, such as costs, growth and runway. Practice answering tough questions about competition and why now.
Research the investor
Check their interests, past investments and stage. A relevant introduction beats a cold email.
Follow up
Send a short thank-you, answer requests quickly and keep them updated. A no today may become a yes later if you show progress.
