MVP stands for minimum viable product. It is the simplest version of your idea that real users can try, so you can learn before investing too much time and money.

What an MVP is not

It is not a half-broken product, and it is not a full version with every feature. It solves one important problem well enough for early users.

Ways to build one

  • A landing page that explains the offer and collects emails.
  • A manual service, where you do by hand what software will do later.
  • A no-code prototype using existing tools.
  • A short video or demo to gauge interest.

Steps

  • Define the single problem and the target user.
  • List features and cut everything that is not essential.
  • Build the core flow, from start to the result the user wants.
  • Put it in front of real people quickly.
  • Measure: do they use it, return and pay?

Choose the right metric

Instead of counting sign-ups only, look at behavior: how many complete the key action, and how many come back.

Be ready to change

The aim is to learn. If the evidence says your assumption was wrong, adjust the product or the audience. Changing direction after two months is far cheaper than after two years.

Start small, launch early and let customers show you what to build next.
